Along with Bollywood, Tollywood has been organizing the ‘Filmfare Awards’ for several years. This year’s ‘Filmfare Awards Bangla 2024’ will be held in Kolkata. This year, five people from Dhaka recorded a nomination in acting and music. Three of them won the award.
Actresses Jaya Ahsan, Tasnia Farin and actor Sohail Mondal won the awards for Best Supporting Actress, Best Newcomer and Best Newcomer. This year’s ‘Filmfare Awards Bangla 2024’ will be held at the ITC Royal Bengal Hotel in Kolkata on Friday (March 29).
Jaya Ahsan has been selected as the best actress in a supporting role this year due to her impeccable performance in Kaushik Gangli’s movie ‘Ardhangini’.
On the other hand, Tasnia Farin won the best debut actress award for Atanu Ghosh’s ‘Aro Ek Prithivi’ and Sohail Mondal won the best debut actor award for Indranil Roy’s ‘Mayar Janjal’ produced by Jaseem Ahmed.
Apart from these three, two more Bangladeshi stars were nominated for ‘Filmfare Awards Bangla 2024’ this year. They are actress Opi Karim and musician Mahatm Saqib.
Tollywood actress Subhasree and her husband director Raj Chakraborty presented the award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. After receiving the award, an excited Jaya told the media, ‘I have received it before in the critical and popular category. But this is my first in this branch. Thanks and gratitude to all my team. Thanks to all the viewers, well wishers and journalists of West Bengal and Bangladesh for giving me love.
Tasnia Farin said, this is not only my first movie in Kolkata but also the first movie of my career. I tried to give as much as I could, the audience liked the rest. I have been getting a lot of love since I arrived.
Young actor Sohail Mondal won the best debut actor award for his co-production ‘Mayar Janjal’ directed by Indranil Roy, but he did not receive the award directly, but he dedicated the award to his colleagues and theater staff.
